WBZ London Eye Blog: Olympic Flame Makes Dramatic Entrance To London
LONDON (CBS) - The Olympic flame has, at last, reached its host city.
At exactly 20:12 British Summer Time (for those who don't use military time, that'd be 8:12 p.m.), a Royal Marine abseiled, torch in hand, from a Royal Navy Sea King helicopter onto the ramparts of the Tower of London.

Londoners and tourists alike gathered to watch the dramatic site, where the city's iconic Tower Bridge and Olympic rings served as the perfect backdrop.
The flame will spend the night in the tower, locked away in the vault also containing the Olympic medals. Saturday morning marks the final leg of torch relay, with an almost 200-mile journey throughout the city's 33 boroughs. The flame will reach Olympic Park to light the cauldron for the Opening Ceremonies on July 27.
