Wayland Police Search Marsh For More Evidence In Astley Murder
WAYLAND (CBS) - Dozens of police were back in a marshy area of Wayland near the town beach Friday morning, searching for more evidence in the murder of 18-year-old Lauren Astley.
Her body was found in a marsh off river road on Monday.
WBZ-TV's Karen Anderson reports
Her ex-boyfriend, 18-year-old Nate Fujita, is being held without bail in the killing.
When asked why they had returned to the scene, Wayland Police Chief Robert Irving told WBZ NewsRadio 1030, "It's a routine search to ensure they've found every bit of evidence in the case."
By the end of the day, police had collected at least two bags of evidence.
Investigators aren't commenting on what's inside these bags, new evidence collected Friday as part of the case.
