Water Main Break Snarls Traffic On Route 93 In Boston
BOSTON (CBS) – A water main break on Route 93 South in Boston snarled traffic and caused several accidents on Saturday morning.
Police said a water main broke in the area of Exit 18, sending water into the road and causing some cars to skid due to the combination of the water and freezing temperatures.
Traffic was detoured from the area, and major backups resulted.
According to police, the break was under control just before 8 a.m. and crews were finishing salting and sweeping the area. Route 93 was expected to reopen soon after.
At 8:15 a.m., police cleared the scene and traffic began returning to normal.
