Warming Back Up...Again!
Chilly start to the weekend, but this is just a brief cool down in the middle of a very mild stretch of weather for this time of year. This past week temps were in the 60's near 70 in spots, before the rain moved through and cooler air returned. That cool air remains over us today...but will be retreating as quickly as it moved in.
A cold dome of air over us this morning will be slow to loose it's grip on New England. A Busy breeze out of the SW will provide just enough motion to the air to make for a chilly day with highs in the Lwr 50's with plenty of sunshine. High clouds will be pushing through during the midday for partly sunny skies at times. This is a warm front which will open the door for the warmer air to push in for Sunday.
High pressure anchored off the Carolina coast will continue to wrap in breezy SW winds for the next few days allowing for our stretch of Indian Summer weather to continue. Sunday will be 10 degrees warmer than Saturday with highs ranging from 60-65 degrees. Bright Sunshine will mix with increasing high clouds. The High to middle level clouds will thicken late in the day. By Sunday night, there may be a passing shower.
Monday looks great as temps will surge into the mid-upper 60's with SW winds right into Tuesday as the Mercury will push towards 70 degrees. Tuesday will be transition day with a frontal passage and the chance for afternoon showers into the evening. It does not look like much. Building high pressure from the west will allow for increasing sunshine with a cool shot of air to end the week...mainly a seasonably cool airmass with highs near 50 Thursday and Friday in the Sun.
High pressure should remain firmly in control of our weather into next weekend...with another gradual warm up. This November is currently running about 3 degrees above normal, near normal precipitation. Another mild week of weather is expected, with no signs of Arctic air for the rest of the MONTH! A balmy flow across the nation through the 27th. The West cools down first with snow in the Rockies. That wintry pattern will return to the Northeast by December. Enjoy the mild while it lasts!
