Warmer Temperatures By Week's End

An arctic air mass has a grip on New England for now.

Check: Current Conditions | Weather Map Center | Interactive Radar

Lows this morning are in the single digits and wind chills are subzero.

The high in Boston will be 26 degrees today.

We can expect a bright, sunshiny day with a slim chance of a few flurries across SE Massachusetts later this evening and tonight.

Watch Melissa's forecast:

The cold air begins to retreat on Thursday.

It will be a partly cloudy day with a few morning flurries for the Cape/Islands and then again for points north and west of 495 in the evening.

Overall, it'll be a quiet, milder day.

Friday will provide us with partly sunny skies along with a chance of a few flurries and snow showers due to a warm front.

This light precipitation will end during the afternoon as the warm front continues its trip northward.

This weekend will start off partly cloudy and mild with high temperatures in the upper 40s.

On Sunday, the GFSx long range model is still showing a dry day with a surface high in place before introducing some snow showers on Monday.

On the other hand, the EURO is showing southern NE getting clipped by the western edge of a storm system on Sunday afternoon and evening.

This will have to be watched as the EURO shows a more favorable upper level wind flow for at least the potential for some snow.

At the moment, I have decided to continue showing a *chance* of rain/snow showers on the Accuweather 7-Day Forecast.

Melissa :)
