Warm Weather Keeps Skiers From Traveling North
WATERVILLE VALLEY, N.H. (CBS) - Most Bostonians love the warm weather, but it's a big problem for the people up in ski country.
Many skiers weren't expecting much snow when they traveled to Waterville Valley Friday.
On skier said, "We were going skiing this week and our friends were like 'what are you going skiing for? There's no snow.'"

Instead, they found the White Mountains are in fact, white.
Convincing snow starved Massachusetts residents to hit the slopes has been the biggest challenge.
"Five miles down the highway, you're saying gee this isn't going to be great, but when you get up here, you have all the trails all the lifts open, there's no brown spots," says Chris Sununu, CEO of Waterville Valley. "That's the amazement."
At Waterville Valley, they've had 64 inches of snow this year. That's way below the 100 they'd usually have. But, they have all of the snow making machines and that's allowed them to make up the difference.
"I'll take six inches in Boston before I need two feet here," says Sununu. "I don't need anymore snow here. We've got all the snow we need."
Throughout New Hampshire business at ski resorts has been down anywhere from 10 to 35 percent. And it means some good deals for February break.
"I think we are seeing some extra deals this year," says Karl Stone of Ski New Hampshire. "With the lack of snow down south we need something to get people here so they can see how good the skiing and riding actually is."
