Wareham Man Wakes Up, Realizes He's On Runaway RV

EPPING, N.H. (CBS) --- It was a wild ride for Wareham resident Gregory Rollins.

The 64-year-old was sound asleep in a motorhome when all of sudden the emergency brake gave way and his RV started rolling down a hill.

"Yeah it was scary! When you're going someplace and you don't know where you are going and the ride wasn't planned!" Rollins said from his Exeter hospital bed.

Rollins says no one was behind the wheel. He was alone in the motorhome.

"I felt the thing bounce and I yell out whose driving? And no one answered," Rollins said.

Rollins plunged about 200 yards down the hill being tossed and flipped on the inside of the RV.

The RV finally came to a rest on the track of the New England Dragway.

"When you get thrown around like that with a lot of sharp points like desks and cabinets, anyone of those things could've knocked me out," Rollins said.

Rollins sustained some minor injuries but fortunately no one else got hurt.

The RV sustained some damage to the front end.

Rollins had to be rescued out of the RV.

He says he was found inside with his bed on top of him.

"I lived through it. I feel fortunate," Rollins said.
