Wareham Man Charged In Hit-And-Run That Injured Woman, Killed Dog
MARION (CBS) -- Police have arrested a man they say struck a woman and her two dogs, Sunday afternoon.
It happened around 4 p.m. on County Road, near the Wareham town line.
Police say David R. Pajunen, 22, of Wareham struck a 40-year-old woman and left the scene.
Pajunen was ordered held on $5,000 cash bail at his arraignment Monday morning.
Pajunen is charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident causing injury and marked lanes violation.
The victim was taken to Tobey Hospital and then flown by medical helicopter to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries.
One of the dogs she was walking at the time, died. The other was taken to a local veterinarian with injuries.
Police have not released the name of the victim.
