Waltham Pizza Shop Owner: Armed Robber Said 'You're Lucky I Didn't Kill You'
WALTHAM (CBS) - The owner of Steve's Pizza has a message for anyone nearby working around a cash register after dark.
"Hope all the pizza places are careful from now on, because we don't know if this guy's going to hit again or not," said Perry Kontalipos.
The robber who barged in after Monday's dinner rush wore a ski mask and wasn't shy about showing his gun.
"One of my workers just fell down, (the robber) came around, went over, tells him to get up, went over to the register told him open the register and give him the money. So he gives him the money and he took off."
As he left, the crook offered a brazen taunt.
"When he was running out he says now you can call the police."
It was the third robbery in as many nights and Waltham police believe they're connected.
A security camera photo shows a masked man with a black t-shirt over his head and a knife in his right hand robbing a Shell station on Main Street Saturday night.
Exactly 24-hours later, a masked robber armed with a gun forced the cashier at Kristina's variety store to empty the till.
WBZ-TV's Peg Rusconi reports
Waltham Police have sent out a flier to make sure business owners are aware of the three robberies.
In each case, the robber is described as between 5'5" and 5'7" tall. He's used a variety of items to cover his face, including a black t-shirt, a red bandanna and a ski mask.
No one's been hurt in any of the three robberies. But Perry Kontalipos won't forget what the masked man said once he had the cash.
"He told us in the end, he says you're lucky I didn't kill you."
