Waltham Driver Avoids Injury After Car Falls Into Open Work Trench

WALTHAM (CBS) – A car drove into a construction trench in Waltham on Monday, though no one was hurt.

It happened around 10 a.m. on Hammond Street.

The front end of the car plunged into the trench, leaving the vehicle on its side with the back end nearly vertical.

"Thank goodness there are no injuries," firefighters tweeted.

The car was removed from the hole and towed from the scene.
