Waltham Boy Hurt After Being Hit By Dump Truck
WALTHAM (CBS) --- A 12-year-old was seriously injured after being hit by a dump truck on his way to school.
It happened after 7 a.m. Tuesday as the boy was crossing Pine Street on his bicycle.
The child sustained serious lacerations to his head and elbow area but was conscious. He was taken by medical helicopter to Boston Children's Hospital.
Police say the child was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Ford F Series Dump Truck, a 22-year-old Waltham resident, was not hurt.
The accident is under investigation but Waltham Police do not believe the driver is at fault.
Police have not released the names of those involved.
