Walmart Starting Holiday Layaway Program Early This Year
BENTONVILLE, Ark. (CBS) – It's not even Labor Day yet, but Walmart is already preparing for the holidays.
The retailer opens its layaway program on Friday to give customers a head-start on holiday shopping.
Shoppers only need to put $10 or 10 percent down, and then they have until Dec. 12 to pay off their in-store purchase.

Walmart also released its list of the hottest toys for the holidays, which include a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle remote control, a Disney princess carriage and "Star Wars" products.
