Firefighters Brave Frigid Temperatures In Attempt To Save Stranded Deer

WAKEFIELD (CBS) – Firefighters in cold water suits inched onto the ice of a Wakefield pond in an attempt to rescue a stranded deer.

A resident near Crystal Lake looked out her window and saw the stranded deer around 9 a.m. on Thursday.

The fire department was able to reach and rescue the deer in about 30 minutes.

Firefighters said the animal control officer is working to determine if the deer will survive.
