Waiting for the Sun...

And the wait goes on and on and on...

So the powerful ocean storm is now 400 miles off the coast of Cape Cod yet nothing has changed, it's still cloudy, cool and wet.  you don't have to go very far to get into very nice weather including bright sunshine...in fact, I received this email from one of our weather watchers earlier this evening:

Hi Todd, you should see the delineated line in the sky out here right now in Leicester!! All blue just to the east of us near Worcester and    all clear to the west with a beautiful sun lowering in the west as we approach sunset. The line of dark clouds to our east is so striking against the dark blue sky, and as I look to my SE, towards the Cape, heavy dark clouds.

We will remain on the western edge of the storm so more of the same...waves of showers through midday tomorrow.  The storm will be a little farther out there tomorrow afternoon and some breaks of sun will start showing up and at the very least I'm expecting some great colors on the western horizon at sunset.  The storm will be in it's weakening phase by tomorrow afternoon but it will be a slow decline and there will still be problems for the coastline especially East and Northeast facing beaches will take a beating...and erosion will likely be an issue.

With the storm moving away for the end of the week, high pressure will be able to establish itself at the surface this will lead to lots of sunshine and temps approaching 70 for the interior...cooler seabreezes will be near the coastline.

The weekend is now looking iffy...the question is can a strengthening trough to our north shove a backdoor front into or through Southern New England.  If it does as the EURO and Canadian models are showing then we are in for a chilly and unsettled weekend.  This is the first day that this solution has appeared in the models but it seems to be gaining traction.
