The manner of death was ruled a homicide, but police wouldn't release the cause of death.

The body was found in Wheelock, Vt., about 10 miles from O'Hagan's Sheffield, Vt., home. She was reported missing Sept. 11 and police believe she was abducted.

O'Hagan moved to Vermont several years ago from Chelmsford, Mass.

O'Hagan's family released a statement after learning of their grandmother's death: "We are saddened by the news of our beloved mother, sister, grandmother and aunt. It is impossible to comprehend why someone would harm her. She was a wonderful person who was loved by many. She taught us the true meaning of family and faith, both of which became the foundation upon which we stood throughout her disappearance. She will be forever missed and never forgotten."
