Vice President Joe Biden Calls The Wrong Marty Walsh
BOSTON (CBS) – Boston mayor-elect Marty Walsh received several phone calls Tuesday night congratulating him on his victory.
But he didn't get one from Vice President Joe Biden.
Biden tried to call Walsh, but he called the Marty Walsh in Natick, a former aide to the late Senator Ted Kennedy.
"It will go down as one of my most memorable election nights. I feel bad for the staffer that had the mix up with cell numbers, being a former staffer, myself," Walsh told CBS News in an email.
"The VP was great and has an excellent sense of humor."
Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak and Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz also called Walsh and left voice mail messages.
Biden later joked about the gaffe on Twitter:
