Congressman John Tierney was among those pitching in to help.
"It's a great community effort," Tierney said. "People pull for one another and we thought it's just good to lend our support and let people know everyone is concerned about trying to get this neighborhood back in shape."
Local resident Donita Reardon was among those grabbing a trash bag and a rake.
"We love being part of this town and want to help anyway we can," Reardon said. "We feel so sorry for our neighbors who lost their homes and want to let them know that."
