Vigil Held For Teen Critically Injured In Charlestown Shooting

BOSTON – A Charlestown teenager is in the fight of his life at Massachusetts General Hospital. Friends say 17-year-old Ryan Morrissey was shot in Charlestown late Wednesday night.

Hundreds gathered in the 200 block of Main Street on Friday night where Morrissey and 19-year-old Jamie Lawton were injured.

"He was a great kid. We all love him. We just want him home," said friend Daryn Zimmerle.

Lawton, who was shot three times, was released from MGH Friday afternoon.

"Very lucky, very lucky. We all hope and pray that Ryan comes through this too," said Red Lawton, the victim's father.

"It's just an innocent kid caught in the crossfire," said family friend John Collier.

Boston Police say no one has been arrested and say they don't have any leads.

"I just want him to live. I was on my hands and knees on my bed last night and being selfish. Saying, 'please, God, don't take this kid from us,' he's just too good and too young," said Collier.

"We all want him back. We all love him," said Zimmerle.
