Video Shows Stabbing On MBTA Bus
BOSTON (CBS) - A man who was brutally beaten after boarding an MBTA bus at Ruggles Station last year is begging a judge not to let his attacker back into the public any time soon. "He stabbed me so hard in my knee, the knife popped out of his hand," 48-year-old Guirand Michel explained in a court hearing.
Prosecutors showed surveillance video of the incident, and heard the story in the dramatic words of the alleged victim himself. He says he sat down next to a teenager.
"He said something like, 'Go sit down somewhere else,' like he's giving me a command. I said, 'Sir, I'm very tired now and I can not get up and go sit somewhere else.'"

Then, he says the teenager punched him and pulled a knife out of his pocket. "He stuck me in my stomach...He keeps stabbing me and stabbing me."
The video shows other passengers getting up and moving away, before the teenager finally ran off. "When I stood up, I was covered in blood on the ground, blood everywhere," Michel explains.
Prosecutors asked for a ten year sentence, but the teenager's defense attorney suggested he go to the Department of Youth Service's therapy program instead. His parents were in the courtroom watching, and gave the teen hugs as he left. He's already been in custody for a year and two months since the incident happened. He's due back in court next month.
