Video shows 84-year-old falling on MBTA escalator. She says elevator was out of service.
BOSTON - An 84-year-old woman says she is still in excruciating pain more than two weeks after she fell on an MBTA escalator. New video shared by the T with WBZ-TV on Monday shows the moment she fell.
Eleanor Harris said that when she got off the Orange Line train at the Tufts Medical Center station, the elevator was out of service. She said she then tried to find a T employee.

Unable to find a worker to help, Harris got on the escalator with her walker. But then the escalator knocks her walker into her, and the video shows Harris falling backward.
Another passenger is seen running to help. Harris says that soon after, a T employee came to help but the video ends before that.
"The pain is horrible"
Harris told WBZ-TV she fractured her spine.
"The pain is horrible and I can't get out of bed," Harris said when WBZ-TV interviewed her on Oct. 18. "That's why I'm in a hospital bed. I can't do anything."
Harris said she's filed a claim with MassDOT. After the incident, the MBTA said passenger safety is their priority and this experience is unacceptable.
"We were concerned to learn of this and take such reports very seriously. Our priority is always the safety and well-being of our riders. This experience for any passenger is unacceptable," the MBTA said when asked for comment at the time. "This matter is under review, and we are in touch with the impacted individual and are addressing her concerns directly. We apologize for the troubling experience and are always striving to make the T more accessible for our riders."
