Victorino Undergoes Surgery On Thumb
BOSTON (CBS) - Red Sox right fielder Shane Victorino underwent surgery on his right thumb, but don't worry about a thing.
Everything little thing is gonna be alright, because Victorino is expected to be ready for the start of spring training.
The surgery, which released a nerve in Victorino's right thumb, was performed by Dr. Thomas Graham in Cleveland, the team announced in a release Monday night.

Victorino battled through numerous injuries throughout 2013, but had a great first season in Boston batting .294 with 15 homers, 61 RBIs and 21 stolen bases during the regular season. He hit just .216 in the playoffs, but had clutch hits in Boston's ALCS and World Series clinching games. Victorino clubbed a grand slam in the seventh inning of Game 6 of the ALCS against the Detroit Tigers and a three-run double off in the third inning of Game 6 of the World Series, as Boston clinched their third title in the last 10 seasons.
Victorino, who signed a three-year deal last offseason, also won his fourth Gold Glove award in 2013.
