Family Relieved, Surprised By Motrin Lawsuit Award
BOSTON (CBS) - The parents of a Massachusetts teen who almost died from an allergic reaction to Children's Motrin are describing their struggles. The family won a $63 million judgment against Johnson and Johnson this week, but they say the money won't repair the damage.
Samantha Reckis is now 16-years-old. She has endured countless surgeries and still struggles with lung and heart problems.

"The strength and the courage that she puts forth every day of her life, she's an example, an example to everyone," said her mother Lisa Reckis.
Samantha was seven when she was given Motrin brand ibuprofen. She suffered a rare side effect known as toxic epidermal necrolysis and lost 90 percent of her skin and was blinded.
"I think twice in ten years I have heard her say 'why me?' and that's a great attitude," said her dad Robert Reckis.
Two years after Samantha became ill, the FDA ordered changes to the labels of ibuprofen drugs. Johnson and Johnson has been sued eight times. At least a dozen more cases are pending. The company says it has done nothing wrong.
The Reckis family says they were surprised by the size of the jury award. Robert says it sends a clear message that drug companies can't kill or hurt kids and get away with it.
Their fight may not be over though. Johnson and Johnson could appeal.
