Victim's Family Begging For Roxbury Hit-And-Run Driver To Come Forward
ROXBURY (CBS) - The sisters of a woman critically injured in a hit-and-run crash in Roxbury this past weekend begged the driver to turn himself in on Wednesday.
Salem Amanuel, 23, was struck on Saturday and is now in critical condition at a Boston hospital.
"It was wrong of you to leave like that, so just please understand that people are hurt by this. If it was your sister, you would understand," said Helen Amanuel, the victim's sister.
Police are looking for the driver whose actions put her there.
"I would just hope that the young man who did this could understand that this is a crime and possibly step up," said Helen Amanuel.

Amanuel was crossing Mass. Ave near the Victoria diner at 3 a.m. Saturday when she was struck.
There are grainy photos of the car: a gray or silver Chevy Impala with tinted windows, a sun roof, a spoiler and possibly front end damage.
"It's always challenging when the vehicle flees. We're unable to get specific identifying information. We've turned to the public before for assistance, and that's what we're doing now," said Sgt. Marcus Eddings of the Boston Police Department.
"You can't hide forever, you know. It's better that you come forward and give up. You can't hide forever. My sister is in critical condition because of your stupidity so please come forward and just let us know. Just the fact that you can tell us you did this...accidents happen, we all understand that. Just the fact that you can come forward means a lot," said Azzy Amanuel, the victim's sister.
It will be tough to find the driver. The only description police have is that he is a light-skinned African American male.
