Victim In Mystery Hit-And-Run ID'd As Worcester Man

WALES (AP) — Authorities are appealing for the public's help in solving an apparent hit and run in Wales that left a Worcester man dead.

Police say a man's body was found on Route 19 in Wales just before 5 a.m. on Tuesday.

Wales is in south-central Massachusetts on the border with Connecticut.

The Hamden district attorney's office on Wednesday identified the man as 23-year-old Cory Cane. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Investigators say it appears as if Cane was struck by a vehicle any time between 1:30 a.m. and the time his body was found.

The road was closed for about six hours during the investigation.
