VH1 Cancels Chad Johnson's 'Ev & Ocho' Reality Show
BOSTON (CBS) -- Chad Johnson was arrested on Saturday night for allegedly headbutting his wife. On Sunday, he lost his job as a receiver on the Miami Dolphins, and on Monday, he lost his second job as a reality TV star.
VH1 has canceled "Ev and Ocho," a reality show that would have featured Johnson and his wife, Evelyn Lozada.
"Due to the unfortunate events over the weekend and the seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series 'Ev and Ocho' from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it," the network announced in a statement.
The reality show would have featured the couple and their wedding from early July.
As of Monday afternoon, VH1's website still listed "Ev & Ocho" under its lists of shows, but clicking on the show title brought users back to VH1.com's homepage. A photo gallery titled "Ev and Ocho Through the Years" remained on the site as well.
Ochocinco was released by the Dolphins on Sunday afternoon, shortly after he had been released from jail. According to police reports, he and Lozada argued over a receipt for condoms found in his vehicle. The police report, obtained by TMZ, says Johnson headbutted Lozada and screamed, ""I don't give a [expletive]! I don't give a [expletive] about my career!" Johnson told police that it was Lozada who headbutted him. Lozada had a 3-inch laceration on her forehead and told police she wanted to press charges.
Both Johnson (formerly Ochocinco) and Lozada are veterans of the reality TV circuit. Lozada has starred in "Basketball Wives," while Johnson starred in a dating show called "Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch." He also starred in "The T.Ocho Show" with Terrell Owens and "Dancing With The Stars."
