Verge of Another Warm Up...

Today's high in Boston was 33 degrees making this only the fourth day with a sub-40 degree high temperature this month...pretty incredible when you think about it.

You can't tell yet, but we are on the verge of more warmth, a couple of Clipper systems will slide to our north over the next two days.  As each goes by, it will warm us quite a bit.  The first moves through the Northeast tomorrow...a warmfront will slowly work through Southern New England, as it comes through we'll see plenty of clouds and even some flurries but no accumulation is anticipated.  It will take most of the day but 40s will surge in by the end of it.  Early Saturday the next clipper will arrive with another round of precip, but by then, mild southerly flow will keep all of it in the form of rain...won't be much anyways, clipper are moisture starved.  Drier air will flow in behind the system on breezy NW conditions so first night will be dry but a bit chilly due to the wind and temps around 30.  The first day of the New Year will be balmy again with highs near 50 degrees the day will be tainted by gusty SW winds however.

The shoe drops on the warm pattern early next week with an arctic front.  Temps will nose dive through the 30s on Monday, the 20s on Tuesday and into the teens on Wednesday...the coldest air in about a year!  Along the cold air temps an icy wind from the NW will create constant subzero windchills.

Barry has you bright and early in the morning so check back for updates then...have a good night!
