USS ROSS In Boston This Weekend, Offering Free Public Tours
BOSTON (CBS) - The missile destroyer, USS ROSS is on its way to Boston.
The ship Norfolk, Virginia-based ship will arrive 10 a.m. Friday at the Black Falcon Cruise Ship Terminal in South Boston.
The ship will be open for free public tours on a first-come, first-served basis Saturday and Monday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from Noon to 4 p.m. No reservations for tours will be accepted.
All visitors to the ship will be screened and are subject to search. No weapons, bags of any kind, or drinking containers will be allowed on board. Small purses and cameras will be permitted. Visitors are welcome to photograph the exterior of the ship only. Photography of the interior is not permitted.
More than 300 sailors stationed on the ship will be taking part in a variety of St. Patrick's Day activities, including marching in Sunday's parade and conducting a community service project at the New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans on Monday.
