Underwater Video Of Great White Shark Released
BOSTON (CBS) - New underwater video of a great white shark spotted off Cape Cod has been released.
The Atlantic White Shark Conservancy spotted the 15 foot female named 'Freckles' off South Beach in Orleans Monday, in 15-20 foot deep seas.
It is the first great white shark spotted off of the Mass. coast this year.
Scientists Greg Skomal and John Chisholm from the Mass Division of Marine Fisheries, working with Atlantic White Shark Conservancy, began the second year of a five year white shark population study on Monday.
Freckles has been ID'd and cataloged and will be included in the study.
The footage was captured using a GoPro camera.
