UMass Hits Milestone In Research Funding
BOSTON (CBS) -- For the first time in the history of the University of Massachusetts, the school has topped half a billion dollars in research funding. Most of the research at UMass has been funded through a number of agencies including the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation.
UMass President Jack Wilson says the school attracted $536 million in fiscal year 2010 with most of the funding going to campuses in Worcester and Amherst.
