Student Sexually Assaulted At UMass Dartmouth
DARTMOUTH (CBS) – The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth recently sent out two separate warnings about female students who were allegedly sexually assaulted at a sophomore dorm.
The university's Department of Public Safety issued the advisories on April 27 and May 6; both of which were the day after each incident reportedly occurred, according to UMass Dartmouth spokesman Joseph Sullivan.
A student reported that a man entered a room through an unlocked door and allegedly assaulted a her in her room between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. on April 26.
Another student told DPS that an unknown man had assaulted her in the common area on the fourth floor at Pine Dale Hall around 2 a.m. on May 5. That student has "significantly changed" her story and now does not wish to pursue charges.
