U.S. Marshals Seek 'Armed And Extremely Dangerous' Serial Bank Robber

BOSTON (CBS) – U.S. Marshals in New Hampshire, Vermont and Massachusetts are on the lookout for a serial bank robber who they say is "armed and extremely dangerous."

Matthew Martin is wanted on multiple arrest warrants for bank robberies in New Hampshire and Vermont. Investigators have been tracking him since December 1. Now, authorities from three states are looking for him.

U.S. Marshals are offering a reward upward of $5,000 for information leading to Martin's arrest. He was last known to be living in the Springfield, Vt., area where he has friends and family.

During multiple robberies, Martin allegedly showed a firearm. At times, he dressed as a woman during robberies. He has continued to rob banks and other businesses while he was a fugitive, Marshals say.

In addition to robberies in Springfield, Ludlow, and Brattleboro, Vermont, Martin is wanted for similar incidents in Loudon and Charlestown, N.H.

Martin is considered armed and dangerous and the public is asked not to try and apprehend him.

Anyone with information is asked to call the U.S. Marshals Services office at (603) 225-1632 or 1 (877) WANTED-2.
