The first incident happened around 2 a.m. in the area of Vancouver Street and Huntington Avenue.
The second incident happened less than an hour later near Huntington Avenue and Parker Hill Street.
In both attacks, the women were grabbed from behind and stabbed as the suspect sexually assaulted them.
Police believe the suspect was hiding in the bushes prior to the attack.

In the second attack, the woman was thrown to the ground and stabbed in the hand, before she was able to get away.
Both sustained non-life threatening injuries, police said.
