Two Waves Of Snow
The first burst of snow will travel from southwest to northeast later today. Although the snow will remain light for the majority of the area, there will be orographic lifting enhancing snowfall across Central and Western Mass.. The steadiest snow will slowly spiral north-northeastward Saturday morning. This will push the heaviest snow northward into southern NH. By Saturday evening, we are expecting a general 1-3" snowfall, a 2-5" snowfall for the North Shore/Merrimack Valley/southern NH and 2-4" for central Mass.. Western Mass. is expected to receive a 4-8" accumulation by Saturday evening.
Wave #2: Saturday PM - Sunday AM ... Another trough affects Coastal Mass Saturday night. This could produce an additional 1-2" of snowfall.
We'll keep you updated on the snowfall accumulations and the exact positioning of the norlun trough as we begin nowcasting thru the evening, tonight and tomorrow.
