WBZ-TV's Jim Smith reports
The officers were not hit, but a suspect was arrested.
At one point during the investigation, a police detective was taken away in an ambulance. He got in under his own power. He apparently scraped his leg and is expected to be OK.
All of this unfolded while the department was already busy with a police chase down Route 3 and another chase a few streets away.
