Men Wanted For Robbing Downtown Boston Stores
BOSTON (CBS) -- Boston Police say five different businesses were robbed in Boston this weekend in less than 24 hours. On Sunday, police released surveillance photos hoping the public will help bring the suspects to justice.
"It's surprising to hear folks are running around grabbing stuff," North End resident Jake Davey said.
Mohamed Hasan, the owner of the Venice convenience store on Cooper Street, said none of his employees were hurt, but they were very frightened after a man robbed him of both money and product. "He said, 'Give me all the money you got.' He grabbed it from the register then took cigarettes and ice cream, then he ran away," Hasan said. "We never had anything like that before. Hopefully, they catch him."
The five downtown robberies took place between 4 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. Sunday. The suspects all appear to be in their mid 20s and 30s.
"It's definitely frightening. I have a daughter who works around here and I fear for her safety, " one resident said.
Police are still investigating. Anyone with information in regards to the robberies is asked to contact Boston police.
