Turning Up the Heat...

As far as temperatures go, today was a lovely day...highs reached the mid 70s and the air was nice and dry.  Thankfully the showers that developed weren't widespread like the last couple of days.  The upper level storm spawning the soaking thunderstorms is beginning to lift into Canada and the air is slowly stabilizing.  In fact, I am only expecting some fair weather diurnal clouds to develop tomorrow afternoon...just not enough instability for any showers so expect lots of sunshine!  Temps will be starting their climb for 90 tomorrow and they will settle into the mid 80s with low humidity...a great Summer Day!

Record breaking heat has been expanding from the middle of the country and will graze New England with near 90 degree heat for a three-day stretch.  Friday will be an interesting day...The heat will be arriving from west to east...the leading edge will be a warmfront and it looks like it will be active with showers and thunderstorms.  Right now it looks like the front will slide through midday with showers and thunderstorms.  Following the storms, sunshine should break out and temps will soar through the 80s...with enough sun and a SW wind direction 90 will be attainable, but a close call for Friday.  The heat will continue to flirt with the area through the weekend and temps will settle near 90 both Saturday and Sunday.  It will be tough to see a heatwave, but possible...seabreezes and isolated thunderstorms may prevent many towns from achieving the three-day feet.

500mb Heights will start to fall again early next week as an upper level trough slides south from north of the US border and cools temps back to the 80s, a few weak fronts may spark a thunderstorm but right now the days leading up to the 4th and the 4th itself looks real good!
