TSA Finds Shotgun Shell In Man's Carry-On At Logan Airport
BOSTON (CBS) - A person was temporarily detained at Logan Airport on Saturday after TSA officials found a shotgun shell in his carry-on bag.
Massport says the man was going through a security checkpoint for Southwest Airlines when the shell was discovered.
Massport spokesperson Matt Brelis says the man was licensed to carry a gun.
However, it is against the law to bring ammunition onto a passenger jet. State troopers, though, determined that the shell was empty and devoid of shot, gunpowder, or primer.
The shell was confiscated and the man was allowed to proceed onto his flight.
