Travis Shaw To Get X-Ray On Bruised Foot

BOSTON (CBS) -- Red Sox third baseman Travis Shaw will have X-rays performed Thursday after fouling a ball off his left foot during the fourth inning of Boston's 11-6 win over the Texas Rangers Wednesday night.

According to Ian Browne of MLB.com, the initial diagnosis for Shaw is a "left foot contusion" but manager John Farrell said the team wants to "get a better read on his situation" with the X-rays.

Shaw stayed in the game after fouling a pitch off his foot but exited in the top of the eighth inning.

Marco Hernandez and Brock Holt are the Red Sox's options at third base if Shaw has to miss any time.
