Three large tow trucks were brought in to remove the 18-wheeler. It was uprighted at about 7:15 a.m. The highway was re-opened just before 8:30 a.m.
All traffic was diverted at exit 26 and detours directed drivers towards Leverett Circle and back on to 93.
Traffic was backed up several miles, all the way to Stoneham.
Drivers complained that there were no warning signs posted on the highway to warn them about the upcoming crash site and the backup associated with it.
