Traces Of Radioiodine Turn Up In Local Air Sample
BOSTON (CBS) - The Department of Public Health announced on Friday that it detected low levels of radioiodine in an air sample in Massachusetts.
That's the same radioactive compound that was turned up in a water sample last weekend.
Authorities believe it is coming from the Japanese nuclear reactor that was damaged by the earthquake and tsunami.
Like last week's water sample, health officials say the level is much too low to pose any risk to us. They do say they will continue to monitor the air and water samples.
