T&R Live From Indy: Marv Levy On Pats Defense & Super Bowl XLVI

The Super Bowl rematch between the Patriots and Giants is almost upon us and 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich are out in Indianapolis on radio row.

Former Buffalo Bills head coach and four time AFC Champion, Marv Levy sat down with T&R to discuss the Patriots, the Giants, the Bills and Super Bowl XLVI.

Robert Kraft bought the New England Patriots in 1994, is Levy surprised at how this organization has changed and become so prominent over the years since?

"They've been prominent for such an extended period of time that it's unique to tell you the truth."

Buffalo wide receiver Stevie Johnson was benched during the season due to over the top showboating. In a time like that is it more important to keep your integrity or win the game?

"I think you're going to win more games if you do keep your integrity. You can't say that it always applies to each one, but if that was a strong point that Chan Gailey was making no demonstrations in the end zone. If he had gotten it across to the players and then he just went against it then I think it was merited."

The guys then talked about the game this coming Sunday. This Patriots defense didn't put up the greatest numbers this season. The Giants struggled, but fought back and made it to Indy. How does Levy see things shaking out come Sunday?

"Well first of all I think that the New England defense statistics are a little bit misleading simply because their offense is so potent quite often the other team is trying to play catch up. What their doing in trying to play catch up is throwing the ball and getting yards, but they're also turning it over a lot and that is a more important statistic than yards, the take away, give away. With the Giants yes they just persisted, they stayed with what they believed and they final began to turn it around."

Listen as he clears up a story that Buffalo fans always want to know about involving Thurman Thomas' helmet and Super Bowl XXVI.
