Toucher & Rich: Yankees Won't Help Sox
BOSTON (CBS) - Peter Abraham of the Boston Globe spoke with Toucher & Rich Tuesday about the epic collapse by the Red Sox.
How does he feel about the Red Sox chances of making the playoffs?
"At this point they could be going home, they could be going to Tampa, they could be going to Detroit. It's really hard to think about what could happen," Abraham said.
It's clear that the Yankees are resting their big name players in preparation for the first round.
Do the Red Sox have a right to be upset that Joe Girardi said he'll be resting most of his bullpen?
"Heck no, and Francona said that before the game the yesterday. If you're the Yankees, your responsibility is to the Yankees. Your responsibility isn't to make things fair for the Red Sox. If the Red Sox were in the same position and Terry Francona said hey we're going to use all of our regular guys and I don't care about resting them, I want to make sure things are fair to the Yankees. He'd be roasted in Boston," Abraham said.
The guys also talked about the injuries at catcher and Clay Buchholz.
