Toucher & Rich With Sean McAdam: Lackey Or Bedard?
BOSTON (CBS) - Erik Bedard had his first start for the Red Sox Thursday since they acquired him at the trade deadline from the Seattle Mariners.
98.5 The Sports Hub's Red Sox insider Sean McAdam spoke with Toucher & Rich Friday.
"I thought he pitched pretty well. He had 7 hits, but 2 or 3 of those were kind of the infield ground ball variety, not a lot of balls hit hard, had decent velocity, good command of the curveball. I think there was a lot to like, first time out," he said.
If Bedard remains healthy, could he become the third starter?
"Yes, I think you could comfortably hand the ball to him and expect that he was going to give them a pretty good chance to win a playoff game," McAdam said.
