Toucher & Rich With Greg Bedard: What's Going On With Haynesworth?
When the Patriots signed defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth people were surprised given his past. We haven't really seen much from Haynesworth since he hasn't taken the field since August 4th.
Greg Bedard from the Boston Globe spoke with Toucher & Rich about the Haynesworth situation, players on the chopping block and Ryan Mallett.
NFL reporter Dan Pompei wrote about Chad Ochocinco and Albert Haynesworth and what the Patriots might have planed for them: "Chad Ochocinco and Albert Haynesworth might not be long for New England ... one NFL executive familiar with the Patriots' ways told me he believes one or both of the big name acquisitions will be cut before the season starts. The front office man thinks coach Bill Belichick will use the controversial players to help control and send a message to his locker room."
What are Bedard's feeling on the whole Haynesworth and Ochocinco situation?
"I think it's ridiculous to tell you the truth for a couple different reasons," Bedard said.
How long should we wait before we see what the Patriots will do?
"In my opinion I don't think people should get worried at all," were Bedard's thoughts.
The guys also went on to discuss New England bringing T.J. Houshmandzadeh in for workouts. With Houshmandzadeh on the decline over the past few years would this be a smart signing for the Pats?
They also talked about Patriots 3rd round draft pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, quarterback Ryan Mallett and his performance in the first preseason game.
That and much more with Greg Bedard.
