Toucher & Rich: Shawn Thornton On Not Playing In The Playoffs
The Bruins had a chance to close out the Lightning and head to the Stanley Cup Finals. Unfortunately, the Lightning were able to take the game and force a Game 7.
Shawn Thornton spoke with Toucher & Rich about not playing in this series, this team heading into Game 7 and the penalty kill.
Thornton has not played since the return of Patrice Bergeron. The also asked Thornton when Claude Julien lets him know he'll be sitting out. How difficult is it to not be in uniform and have to watch his team play?
"It's tough, I don't like watching hockey. I support the decision, I was probably the right guy to come out of the lineup," Shawn told T&R.
There has been some discussion that some of the calls that went against the Bruins were make up calls. Did Thornton see them that way?
The Bruins penalty kills has had success against the Lightning, except in Game 6. What does Thornton attribute to the breakdown on the PK?
