Toucher & Rich: Shalise Manza Young On Woodhead Injury & Patriots Win
The Patriots played their second preseason game in Tampa Bay and walked away with a 31-14 win over the Buccaneers. Tom Brady started and did not disappoint as he threw a pair of touchdown passes in the win.
Shalise Manza Young of the Boston Globe joined Toucher & Rich to discuss the win and the hit on Danny Woodhead.
Woodhead was crushed (watch the video) on a Patriots punt in the fourth quarter by Buccaneers Devin Holland. After the game Woodhead said he felt fine. There was no penalty called on the play, but could there be a fine handed down? Should Woodhead even been out there in the first place?
"Being out there late in the game, that's what the Patriots do. In certain situations Bill Belichick isn't going to pull guys," Shalise said.
The also discussed Chad Ochocinco's first performance in a Patriots uniform. After the game he said that he wasn't happy with his game. What did Shalise Manza Young think of his performance?
They also discussed the injury to Bret Lockett. The Safety hurt his groin/leg on a special teams play and had to be carted off the field in the second quarter. Does this injury help secure Brandon Meriweather's spot on this team a little more? That and more with the Boston Globe's Shalise Manza Young.
