Toucher & Rich: Red Sox Catcher David Ross On Sox Pitching Staff
Spring training is almost over and the Red Sox are ready to make fans forget about last year's terrible 69-93 season.
Veteran catcher David Ross signed a two-year deal with the Red Sox back in November and has been working with his new pitchers down in spring training. Ross joined 98.5 The Sports Hub and spoke with Ryan Johnston and WBZ-TV's Dan Roche -- in for Toucher & Rich -- about whether guys are ready to start playing games that count, his work with the pitching staff, and the Red Sox catching corps.
The guys discussed the talent that the Boston staff possesses and improvements that have been made this season. One pitcher that had issues last season was Daniel Bard; how does he look at this point in camp? They also discussed what the emphasis has been for the catchers in camp.
Plus, much is being made of the decision whether or not you bring Jackie Bradley Jr. up to the majors to start the season. Ross was in Atlanta when the Braves were dealing with a similar situation with Jason Heyward, what are his thoughts on this debate?
