Toucher & Rich Recap 5/20
[photogallerylink id=21123 align=right]After Adolfo's failure of trying to pull out of a parking spot Rich wants him to take a driving test with a driving instructor. Adolfo wouldn't do it so Rich decided to take a ride with him since Adolfo said his only issue is backing up. So on this journey Rich encounters all sorts of possible accidents. First, two minutes into the drive Adolfo decides to stop in the middle of an intersection at a red light, literally directly below the actual light. After that they approach the first of two construction sites. First, he keeps rolling forward while the cop was holding his lane to a stop and then hits a cone while he drives by. And at the second site there was two make shift lanes and Adolfo decides to pick the lane with oncoming traffic. Once Rich lets him know, he swerves to the right lane hitting a second cone. Then Adolfo takes a left turn at about 25 MPH and almost hits a parked car. Rich had enough and told him to pull over and doing so he almost drives into a car wash vacuum machine. Adolfo agreed not to drive again until he completes a month long driving course.
Drunken Red Sox Recap: A couple had "a frigging blast." The guy doesn't even know his highlight, but the girl loved how Papelbon came in and did his job. Little does she know he had the night off. His favorite player is Ortiz and hers is Pedroia because he keeps on keeping on. And these two come together on a song to end this recap.
Shawn Thornton joined the show to discuss the crushing end to the Bruins season. He didn't have an explanation to how this happened and said the locker room was extremely quiet after the game. He did mention how huge a loss it was to lose David Krejci but it wasn't an excuse. He also mentioned looking at the season as a whole it was good to get that far but not satisfying especially with the way it ended. On the too many men on the ice penalty, Thornton said it was a pretty ballsy call in a game seven and it was called by the linesman not the ref. And he concluded the interview saying he spoke to the team during the exit meetings and being a free agent he wants to come back to the Bruins next season.
The guys replayed Brian Scalabrine from yesterday. They touched on Scal dressing for game 2 and the first Scalabrine reference by Mark Jackson and the ESPN crew. Scal also talks about how bad a sports city Orlando and how Magic fans are yelling at him while there is an intense game going on. Fred seconds this opinion with a 50-year-old fan doing the Gator clap behind the broadcasters. And Rich lets Scal know why he thinks this team is better than the 2008 team and Scal gives the guys his opinion.
And Fred was not so happy that Hanley Ramirez came back just in time to crushed his St. Louis Cardinals. They talked about the entire situation about his lack of effort chasing the ball the other day and calls out his coach and team. They come to the conclusion he is completely self-centered and he can do what he wants because he's the best on the team.
