Toucher & Rich: Peter Chiarelli On The Cup & The Future
Everyone is still basking in the Bruins' Stanley Cup win.
Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli spoke with Toucher & Rich about winning it all, his plans for the Cup, the NHL Draft and getting ready for next season. The guys asked Chiarelli if any of the guys have called him to go out and party since the win?
They moved on to discuss the upcoming NHL Draft. The Bruins are currently holding on to the 9th pick. What are his thoughts heading into the draft?
"There's players that we want. We may try and move up, but depending on what goes a player that we don't expect that we're going to get might fall in our lap," Chiarelli said of the draft.
Have any teams offered a player for their pick in the draft? Is there anyone he feels could make the move up from the minor league?
They also talked about Marc Savard's future with the team. Has Chiarelli had any conversations with Savard and is he doing anything hockey related?
They moved on and discussed Tomas Kaberle's future with the B's. Is there an interest to retain him?
Chiarelli stated that there is interest to keep Kaberle, but said, "We've got other options too. We'll talk to his agent, I've got a good relationship with his agent and Tomas wants to come back. We'll see where it goes."
They also discussed Tyler Seguin, how the team will handle him and how will he be used next season?
Finally, since the B's have played longer than most of the teams in the league, how far behind will the team be in getting ready for next season?
