Toucher & Rich: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar On The NBA Lockout
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar joined Toucher & Rich to talk about the NBA lockout and players now a days. What does he make of players from his generation being critical of today's players and does he feel that players now don't respect the players that came before?
"That all has to do with your perspective. Today's players really don't understand what the game was like in the last century and who can blame them, everybody looks forward. I don't criticize them for that," Jabbar said.
There was a comment that Shaquille O'Neal made about Dwight Howard saying that he's the only true center left in the NBA. Does the NBA's all-time leading scorer agree with that?
"I think the game isn't being taught correctly to younger players. They don't spend a lot of time working on post up situations," said Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
They went on to talk about the current state of the NBA and the ongoing lockout situation.
"Players got to get their heads on right about what's possible here. They should realize that a 100% of nothing is still nothing and if there's not a season they'll get nothing...I think they should have a realistic attitude about what is possible," said the 19-time All Star.
